Teaching at the Sheep's Clothing

A week ago, I taught my Irish Crochet class at the Sheep's Clothing in Valparaiso, Indiana. What a great group of women!

Some were quite experienced, third-generation crocheters who finished the project twice in the evening; some were also experienced at the smaller gauge crocheting.

Some were having fun doing something they'd never done before, or experiencing a different aspect of crochet than that which they were comfortable with. You know what? They all left with a rose of their own making!

And, they were all different. Nice job, ladies!

Little somethings for a little lady

My friends John and Abby Gjertsen, after years of infertility, miscarriages and three adorable boys, are expecting their first baby girl. You can read more about their journey on their blog: http://www.houseofgjertsen.info

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing! I have had my eye on Susan B. Anderson's adorable sweater and hat set for years, ever since seeing it in Kathy's former knit shop in Warsaw, Indiana. The pattern is called Flower and Cardigan and Hat Set and it's in her book Itty-Bitty Nursery. I looked up other projects on Ravelry.com and decided to change the i-cord tassel end to a leaf.

Very cute, if I may say so myself.

Now, just to wait for her to be born...

Spring Knitting

Full of hope. Knit two chemo caps for a cousin's wife. She's a knitter, too.

One of my favorite chemo caps "Shedir" found at Knitty.com. I knit this one out of Optima yarn.

Peace, out.
